Frequently Asked Questions | Stitched Creations

We know that buying handmade is a little different from clicking "add to cart" on a mass-produced item, and we love that you care enough to ask questions. Below you'll find answers to the things our customers ask most. If something isn't covered here, please reach out. We're always happy to chat.

Who is behind Stitched Creations?

Stitched Creations is a woman-owned studio based in Wisconsin, founded by a former nurse who traded scrubs for stitches. Years of nursing taught her precision, patience, and deep care for the people she serves, and those same values shape every piece she makes. Each item is artisan-made right here in the USA, by hand, with intention.

What materials are used for your baskets?

Our baskets are crafted from eco-friendly, natural fibers chosen for both durability and beauty. We prioritize sustainably sourced materials that feel good in your hands and in your home. Because we work in small batches, the specific fibers may vary slightly by collection, so check individual product listings for detailed material notes.

Why do handmade items have slight variations?

Every piece is shaped by human hands, not a machine, so small differences in texture, color, or dimension are completely normal. These variations are actually what set your item apart; they're fingerprints of authenticity. We consider them a feature, not a flaw, and they're part of what makes handmade goods so special.

Can I place a custom order?

Absolutely. We love bringing your vision to life. Reach out through our contact page with details about what you have in mind, including colors, sizing, or any inspiration photos. We'll discuss timelines, pricing, and any material considerations before we begin, so you know exactly what to expect.

How long does it take to receive my order?

Because every item is handcrafted in small batches, production times vary depending on the piece and current order volume. Most ready-to-ship items go out within 3 to 5 business days. Custom orders take longer, and we'll give you a clear timeline before you commit. Once shipped, delivery within the U.S. typically takes 3 to 7 business days.

What is your shipping policy?

We offer free shipping on orders over $75 USD within the United States. Orders under that threshold ship at a flat rate calculated at checkout. We pack every item with the same care we put into making it, so your piece arrives safely and beautifully.

Do you offer any discounts for first-time customers?

Yes! New customers receive 20% off their first order. It's our way of saying welcome and thank you for choosing handmade. Sign up for our email list or check the banner on our homepage to grab your code.

What is your return and exchange policy?

Because our items are handmade (and often one-of-a-kind), our return policy works a bit differently than big-box retailers. We want you to be thrilled with your purchase, so please review product descriptions and photos carefully before ordering. If something arrives damaged or isn't what you expected, contact us within 7 days of delivery and we'll work with you to make it right. Custom orders are final sale. Sale item or gift card items are non-returnable .

What types of products do you offer?

Our studio creates a wide range of handcrafted goods, including home decor, apparel, baby items, and gifts for every occasion. From cozy blankets and baskets to thoughtful pieces for new parents, there's something here for the people and spaces you love most. We add new creations regularly, so check back often or follow us on social media to see what's coming off the worktable.

What does "slow fashion" mean, and how does Stitched Creations practice it?

Slow fashion is about choosing quality and intentionality over speed and volume. At Stitched Creations, that means we use eco-friendly materials, produce in small batches, and take the time each piece deserves rather than rushing to fill shelves. The result is something made to last, to be cherished, and to carry a story worth telling. It's the opposite of disposable, and we believe your home and wardrobe deserve that kind of care.
